Characterisation of a Green Microenvironment and to Study its Impact Upon Health and Well-Being in the Elderly as a Way Foreward for Health Tourism

The objective of this proposal is to characterise an ecosystem, and in particular, its infrastructure including community health, flora, air and water quality, in the context of how it could be packaged as a health tourist attraction. Based upon the findings, we will use the information to make recommendations. Nemi, a town in central Italy, in the Alban Hills overlooking Lake Nemi. It offers a stark contrast to its well-known tourist attraction neighbour, Rome (which will be the control group), for a definitive study of the impact of environment upon health.
