Project is aimed on research of erosion control effectiveness of riparian vegetation (RV) of temperate zone on the banks of water flows. Soil losses due to erosion of the banks of water flows can constitute up to 90% of total volume of eroded material in the water flows per year. In some cases, constitute the soil losses caused by erosion of the banks of water flows up to 80% of volume of total annual soil losses in the watershed. With higher quality of RV increase its importance of soil protection on the banks of water flows. RV has fundamental importance in connection with flood control especially through the stabilizing effect during the flood discharges. The project will be focused on quantification of anti-erosion effect of various types of vegetation in different natural conditions of temperate zone and its use in natur near designing and revitalization of water flows, too.
